Poppy Seed Half Roll

My Eastern European grandmother would make Poppyseed Roll every Christmas and Easter. She never wrote the recipe down to pass on to her grandchildren. I have searched everywhere trying endless rolls never finding
the same look and taste. BUT Northsides poppy seed roll blew me away. Delicious and authentic. Fresh ingredients, not bitter, not too sweet and the roll is the right ratio to poppyseeds. Will definitely be ordering again online. Great shipping service too!

This is the best poppy seed roll I have had in many years. There is no skimping on the delicious seeds. It is like what I had as a small girl.

I grew up on homemade poppy seed roll (aka Makiwnyk for us Ukrainians). This is the closest to homemade I have found from a bakery. Why? Because the poppy seed filling tastes natural - unlike others that have an overly sweet canned poppy seed filling soaked in corn syrup. There is plenty of poppy seed rolled into the tender bread and it slices beautifully for a pastry dessert tray. Thank you for this traditional pastry treat enjoyed by both Polish and Ukrainian cultures!
