Well, I only got to enjoy the bread for a few days when I noticed something growing on it. Needless to say I'm super disappointed. I think I'll start looking at local bakeries. I'm just hoping it wasn't because the bread was already old when it shipped.
I just received my 100% rye bread in the mail. It smells SOOO good and the flavor is perfect!! I put almond butter and raw unfiltered honey on the first slice. I ordered 2 so I wouldn’t run out but one quarter loaf has several slices so I froze the second. I was eager to try it so I made a quick sandwich. I was not disappointed, it held together well and tasted great. Texture was good and dense enough to hold what I put on it.
Great so far, looking forward to getting some pastrami now to do a real test!
Granny’s 100% Rye Bread is the only break I do like which survives freezing. Unfrozen, toasted, tastes like 85% fresh.
